Your Inner Poet
Admit it: You may not read a lot of poetry, but you’ve always fancied yourself a poet. What images does the word bring to mind? Bob Dylan, Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, Maya Angelou, e.e. cummings, maybe even Shel Silverstein or Dr. Seuss. Poets come in all sizes, shapes, colors and rhythms. The hipsters of Greenwich Village or the prim and proper adherents to strict rhyme and meter.
Thursday May 2
Poetry can be mesmerizing, and it can also be healing to the frazzled soul.
If you’re free Thursday evening, and would like to learn more about this unique and varied form of expression, come out to the coffeehouse and check out Poetry Night from 5-8:30 pm. The first hour will feature a workshop, Poetry as Medicine, followed by an open mic. Bring something you’ve written and if you’re brave enough, read it aloud. Or just come for coffee, companionship and experience poetry as it was meant to be presented.
Hope to see you there!
Please keep all poetry family-friendly and culturally sensitive.
